Creative Project (W3070)

30 credits, Level 6

Spring teaching

On this module, you’ll develop and complete a creative research project to display your creative identity. You can use this material for a professional portfolio.

Through studio or production practice, you’ll build skills in:

  • creative systems design
  • multimedia and audiovisual work
  • film music
  • game music
  • sound design
  • installation and sonic art.

Workshops and creative labs will aid your creative experimentation and help you develop skills for your project. You’ll also have an assigned supervisor who provides one-to-one support with:

  • identify an area of interest
  • selecting and refine a project brief
  • formulate effective research questions and processes
  • engage critically with research, creative materials and methodological approaches
  • shape a project plan.

Contact hours and workload

This module is approximately 300 hours of work. This breaks down into about 22 hours of contact time and about 278 hours of independent study. The University may make minor variations to the contact hours for operational reasons, including timetabling requirements.

We regularly review our modules to incorporate student feedback, staff expertise, as well as the latest research and teaching methodology.
