School and college visits

Help your students make decisions about university through our higher education talks, tours and masterclasses – at our campus or on a visit to your school or college.

What to expect from your visit

Delivered by our student ambassadors, academics and our recruitment team, our activities are aimed at Year 10, 11, 12 and 13 students. Depending on the activities you choose as part of the visit, your students will get practical advice and information on the admissions process, student life and university courses.

How to plan your visit

Look through our activities and decide if you want your school group to come to our campus or if you want our team to visit your school. We’ll then design a programme for your visit (this can be a mix of talks and taster sessions, or just one event).

Talks and workshops

Choose from one or more university information, advice and guidance talks as part of your school or college visit, including:

Academic Sessions

Subject Taster Sessions on Our Campus Visits

These are 50 minute sessions delivered by our faculty members designed to introduce the students to what the subject entails and a general overview of what studying the subject would entail.

You can arrange to book subject taster sessions in most courses offered by our university.

Please select ‘subject taster session’ on our school and college visits form and we will arrange this to be one of the activities on your campus visit.

Subject Session Talks at Your School or College

We also offer a small selection of subject tasters delivered by PhD students at your school or college.

Find out more on our booking page.

Masterclasses

Designed to complement what is being taught in schools and colleges, our engaging subject-specific masterclasses for Years 12 and 13 students are delivered by our faculty members.

Campus visits

Led by Sussex students and our recruitment team, our campus visits are a great way to find out what it’s like to study at university.

All visits will include a campus tour and a Q and A session with current student ambassadors. We can also deliver university information, advice and guidance talks and subject taster sessions.

Most visits take place between 10am and 2pm. Your students can bring lunch, buy food from one of our cafés or you can pre-order lunch vouchers.

If you’re a student and you’re interested in studying at Sussex, you can also come to an Open Day or go on a campus tour.
