Course learning outcomes
demonstrate advanced and systematic knowledge of key legal rules, principles and frameworks, drawing upon doctrinal, theoretical, procedural or regulatory perspectives to analyse complex areas of law
critically evaluate legal rules, principles and sources of law through the application of research-informed perspectives, legal authority and scholarly debate to complex legal problems and contexts
critically appraise the opportunities and challenges in contemporary legal practice, including ethical responsibilities and the role of technology and generative AI
undertake independent legal research and critically synthesise relevant legal authorities and scholarly sources to produce clear, accurate and well-reasoned legal analysis
formulate effective and evidence-based solutions to complex legal problems drawing on subject knowledge, professional judgement and reflective evaluation
critically evaluate and apply the knowledge, analytical approaches and professional judgement relevant to legal practice, including in contexts aligned with SQE1
communicate complex legal information and reasoned conclusions clearly, accurately and persuasively, adapting the content and form of communication for specialist and non-specialist audiences.
exercise professional judgement and autonomy in applying skills relevant to legal and law-related employment, including client engagement, collaborative working, time management, problem-solving and ethical decision-making.
