Module Outline
This module introduces you to postgraduate legal study within the LLM Legal Practice (SQE1) programme. Through a series of intensive two-hour workshops and seminars, you will develop the advanced academic, professional and transferable skills that underpin successful postgraduate study and informed engagement with contemporary legal practice.
You will develop your ability to undertake advanced legal research and writing, engage critically with different methodological approaches, apply legal analysis, solve complex problems and communicate effectively with a range of audiences. The module also supports the development of collaborative working, reflective practice, ethical awareness and professional confidence, while introducing approaches to client interviewing, client-focused thinking and the responsible use of digital and AI-enabled tools within legal study and practice at the ÑÇÖÞÇéÉ«.
The workshops and seminars are designed to support your transition to Level 7 study through active participation, discussion and applied learning activities. The knowledge, skills and approaches developed throughout the module will underpin your engagement with subsequent modules, inform your preparation for SQE-related study and support wider professional and employability development.
