On this module, you will learn about quantum computation, providing its motivations and the foundation to describe quantum information processing on a hardware-independent level. You will learn the basic computational model, including its mathematical underpinnings, and the key intuitions behind its most famous algorithms.
Students who enrol in this module should be familiar with (or prepared to quickly learn about) complex numbers, matrices, eigenvalues and Boolean logic.
We regularly review our modules to incorporate student feedback, staff expertise, as well as the latest research and teaching methodology. We鈥檙e planning to run these modules in the academic year 2026/27.
