15 credits, Level 4

Spring teaching

This module is an introduction to the fundamentals of computer aided design software and its relevance, limitations and application within the product design industry and the design development process.

This module is divided into two parts and covers software programs such as Solidworks and Adobe Dimension.

Introduction to the basic tools, techniques and operations will be given as a starting point to master each programme. You will then practice the skills you have learned by being introduced to hands-on projects, the results of which will be presented and assessed at the end of each introductory topic.

We regularly review our modules to incorporate student feedback, staff expertise, as well as the latest research and teaching methodology. We鈥檙e planning to run these modules in the academic year 2026/27. However, there may be changes to these modules in response to feedback, staff availability, student demand or updates to our curriculum.

We鈥檒l make sure to let you know of any material changes to modules at the earliest opportunity.
