Advanced Physics Laboratory B (F3243)

15 credits, Level 6

Spring teaching

You carry out one four-week experimental investigation, with the goal to consolidate your knowledge on how to carry out independent experimental research. You write a short preparatory proposal on your assigned experiment, keep a detailed logbook, and report on the experiment in a long report. Experiments are in the areas of nuclear physics, atomic physics, spin physics and astrophysics. Also, there is a series of workshops, evaluated in a short test.

We regularly review our modules to incorporate student feedback, staff expertise, as well as the latest research and teaching methodology. We鈥檙e planning to run these modules in the academic year 2026/27. However, there may be changes to these modules in response to feedback, staff availability, student demand or updates to our curriculum.

We鈥檒l make sure to let you know of any material changes to modules at the earliest opportunity.
