Advances in Climate Sciences (F8513S)

Spring teaching

In this module, you’ll explore key areas of climate science, studying:

  • climate feedbacks
  • climate observations
  • climate variability
  • climate analyses.

You’ll examine major challenges in the field, such as global carbon cycles and aerosols. You’ll also investigate important climate phenomena, including the El Niño–Southern Oscillation (ENSO).

You’ll gain hands-on experience working with real climate data, using real-life data observations and existing climate models to produce your own climate and statistical plots.

We regularly review our modules to incorporate student feedback, staff expertise, as well as the latest research and teaching methodology. We鈥檙e planning to run these modules in the academic year 2026/27. However, there may be changes to these modules in response to feedback, staff availability, student demand or updates to our curriculum.
