Geography Overseas Field Class (L7024)

Spring teaching

In Year 2, all single honours Geography students – with an option for joint-honours Geography students – take part in a field class. This is either overseas or a non-residential one in Sussex. We offer a wide range of international field class destinations, with recent examples including:

  • China
  • the Greek islands
  • Los Angeles
  • the Mojave Desert.

Our international field class offerings are regularly updated, with new destinations always in development.

On these trips, you’ll have the opportunity to get to know potential research locations and practice carrying out your own research within them.

We regularly review our modules to incorporate student feedback, staff expertise, as well as the latest research and teaching methodology. We鈥檙e planning to run these modules in the academic year 2026/27. However, there may be changes to these modules in response to feedback, staff availability, student demand or updates to our curriculum.

We鈥檒l make sure to let you know of any material changes to modules at the earliest opportunity.
