Art & the City: International Study Trip (V4048D)
30 credits, Level 5
Autumn and spring teaching
On this module, you’ll go on a Study trip to Rome. You’ll explore the physical and social contexts for the production and consumption of works of visual art, built around geographical case studies of the city of Rome.
You’ll examine art in a single city across a broad timeframe (Classical to Contemporary). You’ll focus on the spaces in which art is situated, rather than on specific objects in museum collections. You’ll emphasise how to understand art in its physical context, and how to record it.
