Intellectual Property: Industrial Property (M6076)

Spring teaching
On this module, you’ll explore key aspects of industrial property law, focusing on:
- the law of patents
- passing off
- unregistered and registered trademarks
You’ll cover the principles of intellectual property law, as well as the philosophical and economic justifications behind it. You’ll also complete in-depth analysis of specific issues in law and policy, such as access to medicines.
While the focus is on UK law and policy, you’ll also examine relevant EU and international frameworks.
We regularly review our modules to incorporate student feedback, staff expertise, as well as the latest research and teaching methodology. We鈥檙e planning to run these modules in the academic year 2026/27.
