Global Business Law and Regulation (M5116)

Autumn teaching

In this module you will focus on the foundations of global business law and regulation.

You’ll look at cutting-edge issues surrounding global business. Potential topics include:

• the doctrine of ‘pierce the corporate veil’
• extraterritoriality
• cross-border bankruptcy
• corporate criminal liability.

You’ll also compare and contrast the laws and regulations in major jurisdictions, including the U.S. China and the EU. You’ll assess the landmark cases that have addressed the above challenges.

We regularly review our modules to incorporate student feedback, staff expertise, as well as the latest research and teaching methodology. We’re planning to run these modules in the academic year 2026/27. However, there may be changes to these modules in response to feedback, staff availability, student demand or updates to our curriculum.
