Autumn teaching

On this module, you’ll explore sports law at national, regional and international levels.

You’ll address the history of sports law and how it led to dedicated governing bodies. You’ll also cover integrity issues, such as match-fixing and anti-doping rules.

Topics include:

  • the European dimension of sports law
  • how fundamental freedoms affect sport regulations
  • competition rules and media laws for sports broadcasting
  • intellectual property, including branding and marketing of athletes and events.

We regularly review our modules to incorporate student feedback, staff expertise, as well as the latest research and teaching methodology. We鈥檙e planning to run these modules in the academic year 2026/27. However, there may be changes to these modules in response to feedback, staff availability, student demand or updates to our curriculum.
