Marketing Communication and Video Production (N1674)
15 credits, Level 5
Spring teaching
How do brands mobilise storytelling to cut through in an attention economy and saturated media landscape?
On this module you'll combine strategic marketing thinking with practical filmmaking skills to create commercially effective solutions.
You'll master the strategic fundamentals such as:
- audience insight
- communications objectives and planning
- message architecture and
- persuasion psychology.
You'll then apply these to conceive, produce and optimise a short-form advert for a real or simulated client. You'll consider best practice, and integrate theory with hands-on production. You'll take part in workshops that analyse high-performing case studies across platforms.
By the end of the module, you'll have produced a portfolio-ready advert demonstrating strategic alignment and production competence.
We regularly review our modules to incorporate student feedback, staff expertise, as well as the latest research and teaching methodology. We鈥檙e planning to run these modules in the academic year 2026/27. However, there may be changes to these modules in response to feedback, staff availability, student demand or updates to our curriculum.
We鈥檒l make sure to let you know of any material changes to modules at the earliest opportunity.
