Immigration & Asylum Law (M3083)

Autumn teaching

On this module, you’ll explore the law governing immigration and asylum in the UK. You’ll cover this at an international and domestic level, including:

• refugees' rights to seek protect from return to countries where their life or freedom would be at risk
• rights of families living together
• immigration law as a form of public law
• how immigration is shaped by the UK's obligations to the United Nations Refugee Convention 1951 and the European Convention of Human Rights.

We regularly review our modules to incorporate student feedback, staff expertise, as well as the latest research and teaching methodology. We’re planning to run these modules in the academic year 2026/27. However, there may be changes to these modules in response to feedback, staff availability, student demand or updates to our curriculum.

We’ll make sure to let you know of any material changes to modules at the earliest opportunity.
