Sociology Project (L3031)
60 credits, Level 6
Autumn and spring teaching
The aim of this module is to give you direct experience of carrying out a small-scale empirical research project, from the initial stages of design to the final stages of presenting your findings. You’ll build on the knowledge about research methods you already have and use your existing skills to research a topic of your choice.
You’ll be assessed on how well you:
- interpret and apply the relevant methodological issues to your research design
- manage the practical side of the project
- address ethical issues
- reflect on the effectiveness of your chosen strategies.
We regularly review our modules to incorporate student feedback, staff expertise, as well as the latest research and teaching methodology. We鈥檙e planning to run these modules in the academic year 2026/27. However, there may be changes to these modules in response to feedback, staff availability, student demand or updates to our curriculum.
We鈥檒l make sure to let you know of any material changes to modules at the earliest opportunity.
