The Politics of Euroscepticism (L2055)

Autumn teaching

On this module, you’ll explore how political change and rising Euroscepticism has politicised European integration.

Through comparison, you’ll look across Europe to consider trends and variations. You’ll explore:

how Euroscepticism shapes domestic politics in European countries
public opinion on European integration
the party politics of Euroscepticism
the effects of Euroscepticism on policy and politics, including Brexit.

We regularly review our modules to incorporate student feedback, staff expertise, as well as the latest research and teaching methodology. We’re planning to run these modules in the academic year 2026/27. However, there may be changes to these modules in response to feedback, staff availability, student demand or updates to our curriculum.
