Spring teaching

On this module, you'll explore the economic aspects of education, combining theory with empirical evidence to examine key debates in the field. Discussions will focus on current issues in education from both macro and micro perspectives.

Topics include:

  • why does education matter?
  • human capital theory
  • education and earnings inequality
  • the teacher labour market
  • school resources and choice
  • the higher education market
  • critical evaluation of UK education policy.

We regularly review our modules to incorporate student feedback, staff expertise, as well as the latest research and teaching methodology. We鈥檙e planning to run these modules in the academic year 2026/27. However, there may be changes to these modules in response to feedback, staff availability, student demand or updates to our curriculum.
