Autumn teaching

This module explores how labour economics informs the discussion of many social issues such as

  • the causes of unemployment
  • how technological change is shifting the distribution of jobs and wages
  • the impact of immigration on wages and employment
  • the impact of social security on the incentive to work
  • the causes of gender and racial wage and employment gaps.

We regularly review our modules to incorporate student feedback, staff expertise, as well as the latest research and teaching methodology. We鈥檙e planning to run these modules in the academic year 2026/27. However, there may be changes to these modules in response to feedback, staff availability, student demand or updates to our curriculum.
