Critical Reading in Advanced Gender Theory (839P5)

Autumn teaching
This is an independent reading and discussion module where you’ll explore feminist, gender and queer theory at advanced levels.
Themes include:
- identity
- sex
- culture
- speech
- experience
- violence
- labour.
You’ll follow a particular topic or analytical thread for your term paper. You’ll also develop your communication skills through workshops and small group discussions, connecting themes and topics.

Contact hours and workload
This module is approximately 300 hours of work. This breaks down into about 30 hours of contact time and about 270 hours of independent study. The University may make minor variations to the contact hours for operational reasons, including timetabling requirements.
