To take this module you'll need to already be able to communicate with some independence in the target language at level C of the Common European Framework of Reference [CEFR].
On this module you'll:
- understand, organise, articulate, and communicate effectively the main ideas and detail within an extended project in the target language
- be independent and you'll source and select appropriate target resources relevant to your independent study project
- develop a range of complex language structures, syntax, and vocabulary to allow consistent accuracy, control, cohesion and fluidity in use of the target language
- analyse a subject linked to your chosen field of study.
Module learning outcomes
- With reference to CEFR C1/+ level, the student can demonstrate understanding of long and complex factual and/or literary texts and/or specialised target language within their field, including differences in style
- Use the target language effectively and flexibly for academic and/or professional purposes to structure and present an argument, description, or narrative logically and clearly
- Demonstrate effective use and application of complex language structures of the target language including selection of appropriate specialised terms from a discipline-specific lexicon
- Demonstrate in the target language knowledge and analysis of a special subject linked to a chosen field of study
