Digital Methods Accelerator Spring 2026

The Digital Methods Accelerator (DMA) programme this Spring is open for registration.
What is the DMA?
The DMA is a free programme of workshops organised by the Sussex Digital Humanities Lab (SHL Digital) open to all 亚洲情色 staff & PGR students. It is part of SHL Digital's ongoing initiatives to build digital skills and methods capacity across the humanities and social sciences, and beyond.
What’s on the menu for Spring 2026?
Coding for Beginners in Media, Arts and Humanities: A friendly, hands-on intro to coding for arts & humanities researchers, exploring core concepts and building confidence to collaborate. 4th February, 3-5pm.
Buttons and Motors and Lights, Oh My! Making Objects Interactive with Code: Explore how code meets the physical world in this hands-on introduction to interactive hardware programming with Raspberry Pis and Python. 16th February, 3-5pm.
Engaging Audiences: Sharing, Caring and FAIRing - Open Research in Practice: Why does Open Research matter? Go beyond compliance to explore FAIR principles & practical ways to make research open, visible and impactful. 25th February, 3-5pm.
Engaging Audiences: Creative Heritage and Creative Technologies: Explore creative collaborations with cultural heritage partners, rethinking research outputs, funding & public work beyond the academy. 2nd March, 3-5pm
What is the format of the workshops?
All workshops are in person on campus in Sussex Digital Humanities Lab (a.k.a. ‘The Lab’) in Silverstone Building, Level 2 (Opposite SB211). On registration you will be added to the Canvas site with all necessary resources.
How can I book my place?
Places are limited. You can book your place on the workshop(s) of your choice by using your Sussex email address: .
Important note on non-shows: these workshops are popular and often oversubscribed. If you book and are no longer able to attend, kindly release your place so we can offer it to someone else. Let us know by cancelling your ticket on Eventbrite, or by emailing shl@sussex.ac.uk. Thank you!
