On Tuesday 6 October 2026, the 亚洲情色 will host a special one-day celebration marking the 30th anniversary of the Nobel Prize awarded for the discovery of C60 (Buckminsterfullerene). Held at the Attenborough Centre for the Creative Arts, the event honours the pioneering work and enduring legacy of Professor Sir Harry Kroto FRS, whose groundbreaking research transformed the field of carbon science.
The programme brings together leading international scientists, Sussex academics, alumni, educators, and industry leaders to reflect on the discovery of C60, its impact across chemistry, nanoscience, astronomy, education, and innovation, and the exciting future of fullerene research. Highlights include keynote lectures from distinguished speakers, TED-style presentations showcasing current Sussex research, and a panel discussion exploring the future of scientific discovery inspired by the Sussex C60 legacy.
The day concludes with a drinks reception and an optional tour of Sussex's nanoscience laboratories and the Kroto Room, providing attendees with an opportunity to celebrate one of the University's most significant scientific achievements while looking ahead to the next generation of research and innovation.
