Pre-Requisite
This is a practice-based module which sets up and runs a student consultancy on issues related to political extremism, political engagement and political knowledge and information. On the module, real stakeholders in politics, civil society and the third sector will present problem-briefs. Students will work on a brief in small groups, analyse the issue at hand and use the knowledge developed on the degree to devise responses and pathways for action. Simulating tasks and work processes in a range of careers related to research and advocacy, the module prepares students to deploy analytical and communicative skills in a professional setting.

Demonstrate understanding of the tasks and responsibilities involved in researching for think-tanks, political organisations and civil society organisations
Produce an independent analysis and action plan in response to a stakeholder brief
Work in a team effectively and collectively produce findings
Communicate research findings to different audiences effectively
